Tag it - Data tag
Electronic tagging is something familiar to pet owners, but maybe not trailer owners. NCASS have teamed up with one of the market leaders Datatag.
Like all of the best inventions and ideas, the concept of Datatag is simple but utilizes state of the art identification technologies to permanently mark and protect your property. Datatag makes your vehicles and property identifiable to the Police in such a way that is virtually impossible for a thief to defeat therefore, the risk involved in stealing this marked property becomes very high to the criminals who therefore tend to avoid stealing the property in the first place.

Criminals prefer to steal property where they can easily remove or change the original manufacturer's identification numbers or marks. Tampering with these important identification numbers makes the stolen property less likely to be identified and hinders the police in tracing the real owner.

Datatag changes this, our systems use several unique identification marks or tags which can be permanently hidden within your trailer, vehicle or property. A thief then has the impossible task of removing every single identification mark without damaging the trailer/ vehicle to avoid the risk of detection whereas a Police Officer now only needs to locate and identify one or two of the marks to assist with a prosecution.

Register - it
Catering trailer theft is becoming a major problem in the UK. We are getting to the stage of a hearing of one on a weekly occurance, so dont think it can never happen to you. If on the other hand you are buying a catering trailer, how do you know its not stolen? You will not be able to check the datatag, only the police have such devices.
As a solution NCASS are developing the only national database of catering trailers in the UK. All members have the option to register their trailer FREE of  CHARGE, non members will pay a fee of £10 per trailer, which includes up to 4 images of the unit, and the owners details, these will be held on a database built to Loss Prevention Standards and is completely safe.
In the future buyers will be able to  perform a check similar to that you can perform on a vehicle (called an HPI) check which can reveal the history of the trailer ie. how many owners, if their is finance outstanding etc)  but also keeping its keepers contact details secure.
Members can update their trailer details from their control panel on the NCASS website.
If a trailer is stolen one click of the details and it will appear in the lost or stolen section and on the front page of the NCASS site instantly.

Track it

Very High Frequency (VHF) stolen vehicle recovery systems work like an electronic homing device. A covert transmitter is hidden discretely in one of several dozen places around your vehicle / trailer. There is no visible aerial or other identifying feature so the thief can't see it and won't know it's there. Unlike our competitors we have our own, purpose-built, radio network dedicated to getting your vehicle / trailer back -fast!

Unlike GPS and GSM based systems, VHF can still recover your vehicle even if it is in an underground car park, a shipping container or transported in a covered trailer. As soon as the active unit is within range of a TRACKER equipped Police Vehicle it will be identified through a unique code known only to TRACKER and the Police.
Monitor, Horizon and Locate products can generate an alert if your vehicle is moved without your knowledge - we then contact you to ensure your vehicle is secure. From then on there are four simple steps to getting your vehicle back:

Stage 1: Vehicle owner contacts TRACKER HQ and the police to inform that their vehicle has been stolen.

Stage 2: TRACKER HQ activates the unit hidden in the stolen vehicle via our VHF transmitter network. The vehicle is now emitting a silent land based radio signal.

Stage 3: The silent signal can now be picked up by any of the UK's 52 police forces that are within the vicinity of the stolen vehicle. The signal will direct the police to the exact location of the stolen vehicle.

Stage 4: On customer request, a uniformed guard waits with your vehicle until it is recovered to a destination of your choice - anywhere in mainland Britain. This service applies only to stolen vehicles located within mainland Great Britain. We can also arrange to repatriate your vehicle from anywhere in Europe.
