Testimonial for Fiona West

To support our key events at Weston Park in Staffordshire and Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, we put in place an Environmental Health Consultancy Agreement with Fiona West NCASS Environmental Health Specialist, to review the trader food safety arrangements in place.

Fiona spent time at each of our events, checking on the trader set-ups, practices and procedures.  She provided advice and guidance to the traders, summarizing actions for them to remedy where applicable.  She provided us with relevant feedback on their standards of compliance.

Having this additional compliance support in place reassured the local authorities and helped to demonstrate our willingness to strive for continuous improvement and the safest standards at our events.  The traders benefited from the advice and were readied for further visits by the local authority.

Fiona provided us with a service which went above and beyond our expectations. It was really appreciated!

We will be looking to use NCASS to support our events going forward.

Marc Rowson
NCASS Gas Safety Consultant

I initially joined NCASS to bring accreditation to my own comprehensive knowledge and experience as a specialist engineer working within the catering and street food industry. I found that bottled gas was not very popular with engineers leading to installations on the street where regulations were not always understood, creating a mismatch of compliance and safety. I strive to deliver installations inclusive of gas safety regulations. I take time to get to know my customers and what they aim to achieve from their day-to-day business and with a bit of planning, how best to deliver a functional and safe installation.

What became the turning point was a regular interaction with the team at NCASS where my passion to deliver a legally complaint service on the street aligned with NCASS’s determination to educate and safely establish traders the right way, first time.

I joined the NCASS team to formally consult on gas safety, to assist on bringing a uniformed approach to the LPG Code of Practice and to support all stakeholders in ensuring that the rapidly evolving industry has vendors, affiliated approved engineers, event organisers and professional bodies who understand and deliver gas safety the right way.
