NCASS will sit on the the Mayor’s Night-Time Economy Commission will meet for the first time this week to start identifying the biggest challenges facing this important part of the West Midlands economy. Members will report back to the Mayor with their recommendations designed to reignite the industry and help breathe new life into town centres and high streets.
The commission includes pubs, restaurants, bars, street food venues, events, clubs etc, the night-time economy is part of the region’s everyday economy which employs the workers that provide essential goods and services that people depend on daily and we need your views.
The commission are asking the question ‘What does a thriving, safe Night-Time Economy look like in 2030?’
This is quite a broad question, so we have broken it down here:
- What would a thriving, safe, and inclusive night-time economy in 2030 look like to you?
- How do you want people to feel when they go out in the West Midlands at night?
- What’s working well right now for hospitality and night-time businesses in your area?
- What challenges or barriers are holding your business back from trading later or more successfully at night?
- Are there any local policies, licensing issues, or safety concerns that need to change?
- What one change would make the biggest difference to your business or community at night?
- How could transport, policing, or local infrastructure better support the night-time economy?
- What could be done to make the night-time economy more sustainable and inclusive?
We need your thoughts on this so we can share what do you want for West Midlands nightlife, hospitality, events and venues with the commission.
Please contact Roxy via [email protected] with your thoughts.
Thank you in advance,
Alan Fox – NCASS CEO
