Northern Heats of British Street Food Awards
The Northern Heats of the British Street Food Awards takes place this weekend (May 23-35) at The Parade Ground, The Fire Station, Sunderland.
Traders competing for a place in the final include The Greekster, Craving Asian, Sizzling Scoop, My Sister’s Kitchen, Saffa Soul, My Delhi, Flying Cows, Chicken Ting and The Fire Truck.
The judging panel session, taking place at 3.30pm on Sunday, consists of Si King, Siân Byerley, Richard Johnson, Chris Jewitt, Adam Riley and Terry Laybourne.
The finalists from the Southern Heats were chosen earlier this month, with Oshpaz, Hakko House, Cut the Mustard, BEYroots, The Burger Society, ROK Kitchen, Waffle Wands and Sourdoughlicious all winning in the Judges Choice and People’s Choice categories.
The winning traders will compete at Food St market in London for a chance to be crowned Britain’s best on Sunday September 28.
Foodies Festival
Taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend is Foodies Festival in Syon Park, London.
Dubbed as “the UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink,” the 3-day event brings together TV chefs with global music stars alongside a baking theatre, cook school and fire stage.
An array of street food traders and exhibitors will be pitched up across the weekend and visitors will have the opportunity to partake in a Hot Chilli Challenge.

Eat & Drink Festival Glasgow
Expect independent artisan food producers, street food vendors, mixologists, and a wealth of the UK’s top brands at Eat & Drink Festival Glasgow from the 23rd-26th May.

Blenheim Palace Food Festival
The Blenheim Palace Food Festival is back with headliners including Raymond Blanc OBE, Thomas Straker and Melissa Hemsley.
The grounds of the palace will be filled with stallholders selling food from all over the world, alongside masterclasses and demonstrations from top chefs. Guests can also enjoy live music, circus performances and family-friendly activities.
