We’ve been really inspired by all the innovative ways our members are handling lockdown, from delivering meals straight to people’s doors, through to obtaining interviews in the press and crowdfunding for those in need.

Here’s just a small sample of some of our favourite stories from the week over on the social sphere. Remember to keep tagging us in your images or sending your news to [email protected].

Beki’s Brownies:

“What an amazing few days with the Digbeth Dining Club Click & Collect team. Thank you so much to everyone who bought a box of our brownies and thank you to DDC for the amazing work they are doing to keep street food businesses alive. Hopefully see you there again soon!”

Open Kitchen Manchester:

“Today we hit 80,000 meals produced for people affected by COVID-19 across Manchester! This is what a day on our packing floor looks like…our amazing team of volunteers and staff labelling dishes, packing into orders, sending out to residents and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

StrEAT

“Today we dropped another 100 meals to Lambhill Stables! Cottage Pie & Moroccan Bean Stew prepared by Papa Macs Kitchen. Help us provide 16,000 meals to those in need across Scotland though out Go Fund Me – https://www.gofundme.com/f/TheKindKitchen

Punjabishack

“Our first weekend of deliveries done and that was fun. Thank you to everyone who supported us! Menu coming soon for next weekend.”

Heart Street Vegan.

“Really proud to have created this piece for Business & IP Centre and British Library – check our bio for the link.”

Unable to pivot during this time due to the financial risks, Evie-May (Heart Street Vegan) has had to cease trading for the time being. She talks about the isolation which comes with being an entrepreneur and how to support your own mental health when running a business.
