The LPG Safety training package for Event Professionals

Stay ahead of risk with our dedicated online LPG safety workshop, designed specifically for event professionals managing mobile and outdoor catering.

This isn’t theory-heavy training – it’s a focused, real-world session covering the setups, scenarios, and risks you’re most likely to encounter on-site. You’ll gain practical guidance on identifying unsafe practices, supporting compliant traders, and keeping your events safe.

Led by the NCASS Gas Safety Consultant – a qualified LPG engineer with extensive hands-on experience – you’ll learn from someone who has seen first-hand what can go wrong, and how to prevent it.

To purchase a course place, please refer to the following instructions:

1. Go to www.ncasstraining.co.uk and click the orange ‘LOGIN’ button in the top right corner.

2. Select the orange ‘Create an account’ button.

3. Complete the non-member registration form and select ‘Proceed’. This will require you to set a password to log into the training account and access the training course and workshop, so please keep a note of your login details for future reference.

4. Log in to your Training Dashboard available training courses – LPG Safety Workshop for Event Professionals, making sure to select the correct date.

*If you encounter any log-in issues, please use the ‘Forgot Password’ functionality to reset your password*

5. Complete the payment arrangements – a debit/credit card will be required. Please note a VAT invoice receipt will be automatically sent to the email address provided as proof of payment.

6. Upon confirmation the booking will be confirmed within the dashboard and the status of the training option updated. The LPG workshop will show as available in the dashboard with a Teams link included, to be used on the date/time as shown to access of the workshop.  A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided.

7. Within 2 working days a further email will be sent with details on how to access the online training course ‘Safe Use of LPG in Mobile and Outdoor Catering’. Please look out for this email and use the link to access the training course.  You will require the password and log in details that you created for your account in step 2.

PLEASE NOTE – It is recommended the online ‘Safe Use of LPG in Mobile and Outdoor Catering’ training course is completed prior to attending the LPG Workshop.

The course provides the basics of mobile LPG safety and is essential for anyone working with or assessing the suitability of mobile LPG setups.  It is a great start to helping event professionals fill that knowledge gap.

This training will help develop event teams to identify unsafe situations and support risk assessment controls. There will be a chance to ask questions and discuss any real-life scenarios and NCASS will provide CPD certification upon completion of this training.

An advanced 3.5-hour remote workshop delivered by the NCASS Gas Safety Consultant, a Gas Safe LPG engineer, which will cover:

    • Examples of real-life LPG incidents (fires/ explosions that have occurred due to the lack of safe practices).
    • A technical summary of the LPG safety principles, including examples of good and bad practices
    • The “Six Safe Gas Safe Set Ups” plus an additional focus on LPG in wooden structures e.g. kiosks, Christmas market chalets
    • A focus on the highest risk appliances – deep fat fryers
    • Arrangements for bulk cylinders storage
    • LPG generators
    • Gas safety certification
    • Gas safe reporting procedures and enforcement examples

All candidates will be given access to the NCASS Learning Management System, to complete this course at a time that suits them.  Access to the course will be arranged within 2 working days of purchase, a dedicated email will be sent outlining simple and straightforward joining instructions to access the course.
