Latest Digital Food Safety System Updates

We’re continuing to improve the Digital Food Safety System based on how members are actually using it day-to-day, alongside the feedback you give us.

The Digital Food Safety System is a digital compliance tool included with NCASS membership that helps food businesses manage food safety, complete records, and stay inspection-ready.

A big focus for us is making sure the system doesn’t just tick compliance boxes, but genuinely makes running your business easier – quicker to use, clearer to understand, and more useful when you need it most.

It’s used by mobile caterers, street food traders, cafés, restaurants, and other food businesses who need a simple, reliable way to stay compliant.

The system helps you:

  • Stay compliant with food safety regulations
  • Complete and store records digitally
  • Be ready for EHO inspections
  • Manage safety across staff and locations

Our latest update will go live during the first half of April, with improvements shaped by member feedback to make things simpler, clearer, and more useful day-to-day.

This includes new daily LPG on/off checklists, cleaner reporting that only shows what’s relevant, better device diagnostics to speed up support, and easier access to your membership details.

There’s nothing you need to do in advance – just click the update button when prompted after release to get the latest version.

What’s changing?

New daily LPG on/off checklists
We’ve introduced dedicated daily LPG on/off checks to help you manage gas safety as part of your routine. It’s a simple addition, but an important one for staying compliant and reducing risk.

Cleaner, more relevant reporting
Reports will now automatically exclude checklists that are disabled in your Unit Settings, as well as Cooking, Reheating and Hot Holding checks where no readings have been recorded.

This means less clutter and more focus on the information that actually matters.

Improved device and browser reporting
We’ve enhanced the way device and browser information is captured, making it easier for us to diagnose issues quickly without needing to come back to you for additional details.

Membership details in the main menu
Managers can now view key membership information directly within the system, giving you quicker access to the details you need without having to leave the app.

What you need to do

Once the update goes live at the first half of April, simply click the update button when prompted as you log in. That’s all – no setup or changes required.

We’ll keep rolling out improvements like this to make sure the system continues to work for you – saving time, reducing friction, and helping you stay on top of compliance with confidence.
