Events booking platform Togather has released its first 25 in 25 list, a celebration of this year’s rising stars of the street food and catering industry.
With the hospitality industry often dominated by accolades for restaurants and chefs, Togather’s ‘25 in 25’ aims to correct the imbalance by recognising the entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and community focus of caterers and street food businesses.
“There are loads of award ceremonies and lists for restaurants and the wider hospitality scene, but caterers and even street food businesses are criminally underrepresented. What we love about the suppliers we work with is that they come from such a huge range of backgrounds, whether it’s self-taught chefs, those bringing new life to old family recipes, or those who have lived out a whole corporate career before ditching it for the street food scene.” – Digby Vollrath, CEO and co-founder
How the list was created
Togather opened up nominations to both its internal team of event experts and its wider community of event suppliers. The final 25 honorees were then selected using the following criteria:
Product – whether they have absolutely nailed the recipe of a single-dish speciality or are serving something totally unique, we value a great product above all else
Innovation – those suppliers changing the game in one way or another
Impact – suppliers embedded in their local community, have exceptional sustainability creds, or are otherwise making a positive impact on the world around them
Experience – suppliers that deliver an amazing guest experience, everytime
Tenacity – all F&B suppliers have to be resilient, but maybe they’ve worked through more than most in order to achieve your dreams
Highlights of the list include:
Gus, Broadway Churro Club: an entrepreneur who truly lives and breathes hospitality, Gus charms every customer he meets and will not rest until his offering is perfect. He is a beloved regular at Broadway Market and has found great success with a private events offering too.
Grace & Louis, Brewed by Boon: having started their business in May 2024, Grace and Louis are well on their way to running a coffee empire. Their van “Peggy” stands out amongst the crowds, even when – in their own words – they are up against 14 coffee chains when trading at public markets on crowded high streets. Their attention to detail spans from the local and sustainable suppliers they use all the way through to handstamping every one of their distinctive yellow cups with their logo.
Will, Packed Sandwiches: After backpacking around the world husband and wife team Will & Claire realised there was a gap in the market for UK Chicago-style sandwiches – and Packed was born. Summer 2024 was their first season and they have tapped into a growing sandwich boom in the UK.
Louisa, Wine Tap Van: not content with her eyecatching “wine tap van,” which does what it says on the tin – sells great quality wines on tap to festival and event-goers – Louisa is about to launch her own canned wine, too.
Jou Jou & Mustapha, Jou Jou’s Bites: it’s impossible not to be charmed by Chia and Mustafa, one a bundle of energy and one a cheerful, calm presence. In only their third year of trading, they are becoming a force to be reckoned with on London’s street food scene, with regular popups at public markets and a new permanent spot in Canada Water.
