Meet the Team: Mark Jobe

Mark Jobe, NCASS Financial Accountant

Here at NCASS, there’s a passionate team working behind the scenes every day to make sure members get the most out of their membership – and we thought it was about time you got to know them!

Mark Jobe is NCASS’s Financial Accountant and has been part of the team for the past three years. With over 25 years of experience in finance, primarily within the aerospace and power generation manufacturing sectors, Mark spent much of his career as a Management Accountant before joining NCASS in a local part-time role.

What does your role involve day to day and how do you manage the team?

Looking after the day-to-day smooth running of the monthly accounts and management reporting of income and expenditure. I run the payroll for the company and also look after the bank accounts. I’m also involved in management of the Admin team headed by Sarah Moss.

How does your work support NCASS members in a practical way?

I help to ensure that all cash rec’d is allocated to the correct account and that cashback reconciliations are being done in a timely manner. I’m also an Emergency Catering Service team member, allocating any jobs which come in out-of-hours.

What’s something people might not realise the finance / accounts team does behind the scenes?

Part of the unofficial on-site ‘maintenance’ team with Adam Palethorpe, our Marketing Director 😊

How do you work with other teams (like partnerships, marketing or account managers)?

I like to see people face-to-face rather than just emails and Teams calls. The best day of the week is a Wednesday when all staff members are in.

How important is it for finance to understand what’s happening on the ground with members?

It’s essential to understand trends going forward to help with forecasting and cost allocations, and also to ensure that members get the correct level of service from us.

What do you enjoy most about working at NCASS?

It’s a very relaxed place to work, although the work still gets done!

What’s a small win in your role that makes a big difference?

Pretty boring, but finishing the accounts in good time and achieving our monthly objectives.

What’s your go-to comfort food?

I love a good curry whether Indian, Thai or Vietnamese. I went to the Wychwood festival at the weekend and had some fantastic Indian food from OH BABU. Exceptional!

What would you name your food truck or hospitality business?

Something unique like ‘Eat like a King Burgers’

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I’m ‘responsible’ for 3 children and have a 13-year-old Black Lab plus 3 cats. Also playing pool at lunchtime and being top of the NCASS league 😊
