Meet the Team: Sarah Jackson

Here at NCASS, there’s a passionate team working behind the scenes every day to make sure members get the most out of their membership – and we thought it was about time you got to know them!

Next up we speak to Sarah Jackson, Senior Account Manager at NCASS, who has been with us since March 2022. With around 15 years of customer service experience across the IT, manufacturing and construction sectors, she brings a broad range of knowledge to the role. Sarah joined 4 years ago in a membership administration position before progressing to Account Manager and, most recently, Senior Account Manager, where she now supports members and helps drive the success of the team.

What’s your favourite part of your role?

It has to be just speaking to our members day in, day out – whether that’s the members that you connect with often and really get to know, or the members who you may only speak to a few times a year. You get to know people from all walks of life whose paths you may not cross with in your day-to-day life. Some of the members have had such amazing and inspiring journeys.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about the Membership Team?

This is going to sound quite boring, but I think how small the team is! There are actually only 8 of us on the team supporting around 6200 members over the phone, email & live chat all year round.

What’s the most common question you get from members?

Ohhh this can really vary – I think it depends on the time of year to be honest.

Leading up to the summer where events are more popular, most of our time is going through paperwork and ensuring members have everything up to date for their events. There can sometimes be some confusion with what event organizers are asking for.

What’s one thing you wish every member knew about their membership?

We offer so much more than the risk assessments & safety management system.

We work with some really amazing companies where you can save/make money through being a member, which in most cases pays the membership fee plus more.

Really make sure you utilise your membership.

What’s the most rewarding part of supporting independent businesses?

Many independent businesses are built around someone’s passion or expertise, so supporting them can help those ideas continue to grow. You get to know the people behind them leading to a more personal service and a stronger sense of community.

What’s a service or benefit you think more members should be using?

Without a doubt the Digital Food Safety System! I appreciate going digital isn’t for everyone – but we speak to so many people who don’t even know that it’s a feature we now offer, and that’s included in your membership fee for no extra cost. Once you get your head round it, it’s a real game changer! The app has been created in-house, so we are on hand to help go through any questions or support. Which means we also have the flexibility to change things as we really have created it to work efficiently for our members.

What’s your go-to comfort food?

My go to would have to be Chinese food – you can’t really go wrong there.

Also, Spanish tapas is a fav, especially from our member TapasZampa – if you haven’t tried Adrian’s food, I highly recommend!

What would you name your food truck?

Jacko’s Taco’s. Which means I would have to learn how to cook a decent taco!

What are some fun facts about you?

I am OBSESSED with dogs, having 2 of my own, Grayson & Rex – I would have 10 more if we had a big enough house.

My husband & I once raised money for Birmingham’s woman’s hospital & were featured in the Birmingham Mail.
