Feed My City Campaign Manchester

Growing up in India, Sukhbir knew what it was to go without food as a child; now having lived in Manchester for all of his adult life, he’s working hard to ensure that no one in his beloved city is going without food.

The concept for Feed My City began four years ago and with three people on board to help him deliver his mission, Sukhbir set about driving to some of the most deprived areas in Manchester and providing people with both comforting, hot meals, and dry food parcels to cook at home.

We ask whether demand has risen in light of the cost-of-living crisis:

“Absolutely, we gave out 150 meals on the van this morning alone, and that’s very typical. We deliver dry food bags seven days a week and have already delivered six today.”

Funded entirely by volunteers and at zero cost to the recipients of the food, Feed My City is an example of how a passion for food and a passion for community often go hand-in-hand to achieve something extraordinary.
