Future Festival Tools

Green Competency for Event Professionals

We are living in a time of climate emergency. Every sector from arts & culture to manufacturing, fashion to food are exploring ways in which they can change their ways of working to support the planet.

The festival sector is no different and although there have been positive trends in festivals when it comes to environmental impact, there is still a lot of work to do – this is why we chose to come together to find solutions via Future Festival Tools.

Future Festival Tools is an European Erasmus+ funded project and has enabled the most knowledgeable and active organisations in sustainability within the events and festivals industry from across Europe, to combine their vision for the future.

We have created a comprehensive toolkit for festivals which allows event professionals to assess where they are in their sustainability journey, be inspired by green festival stories from across Europe, learn how to deliver sustainability with our training course and how to inspire and teach others.

The project team is made up of project partners:

And our associated partners:

The project brings over 20 people from the festival, sustainability and education sectors together.

This week, Future Festival Tools is launching at The Showman’s Show as part of Vision 2025’S Sustainable Events Summit and at ADE Green, which is produced Green Events. It’s really exciting to be able to share the resources with audiences at both shows and feedback from the events in invaluable to the project.

Whether you are a festival director, work in production management, are a sustainability lead or are just starting out in the festival world, Future Festival Tools will be able to support your practice.

We are really excited to be able to share the project with you and hear what you think about the resources we have created – You  can get involved with testing Future Festival Tools here.
