Meet The Team: Chris Allison

Here at NCASS, there’s a passionate team working behind the scenes every day to make sure members get the most out of their membership – and we thought it was about time you got to know them!

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we’re getting to know Chris Allison, one of our Developers. Chris brings experience across cloud software and automotive simulation, giving him a varied technical background that he now puts to use developing technology and tools at NCASS.

What does your role as a developer at NCASS involve? 

My job is to work on the software systems behind NCASS, that means building interfaces, underlying systems, and the infrastructure members are using when they open dashboards and products. As well as any technical support to ensure quality for members. 

How does your work help our members? 

My job is to make members lives easier through our software, that means easier interfaces, and building systems that people can be confident in.  

What are you currently working on that you’re excited about?  

I’m currently working on a system of application tours for our products; this will be able to give members a guided tour around our apps and their pages. This is part of our work to make the tools more user friendly and supportive for members. 

What’s one feature you’ve been a part of building that people might not realize takes a lot of work behind the scenes? 

I spent a lot of time on the new adverts system in dashboard. This can be a lot of work to understand what was built previously. We must design with keeping legacy systems in mind to ensure members always have access to their data and features they are used to.  

What do you like about working with the tech team and wider NCASS team? 

I like the supportiveness towards the members and how the attitude is to promote value for people. It’s good to know that my work will be having an impact for people. 

What’s your go-to comfort food? 

Good chips.

What would you name your food truck? 

Fast Food, but I want to see how it goes round a racetrack first.

What are some fun facts about you?  

I spend my free time either playing tennis, rowing, or with too much Warhammer. So, my hands are usually either sore, covered in river water, or being used as a paint palette. 

I went to uni with Francis Bourgeois (train influencer); it makes watching the new Grand Tour series a bit surreal though still very good.
