NCASS members pitch their DreaMM ideas

Applicants to the Mercato Metropolitano DreaMM project are currently in the process of pitching their ideas online to a panel of judges in a bid to accelerate their dream concept into a big hit.

The initiative, which launched back in November 2020, provides ambitious street food businesses with an opportunity to develop their concepts with the Mercato TeaMM and get allocated a spot on the MM incubation programme, which includes waived entry and set up fees and tailored mentorship.

The pitch days will involve businesses delivering a 20-minute presentation and Q&A session to judges, with the winners being formally announced on 10th February and onboarded into one of Mercato Metropolitano’s London markets where they will learn the tricks of the trade.

Claire Dyson of Marli Cheese & Fizz Fairy, said:

“As an NCASS member, I became aware of the Mercato DreaMM Programme via their social channels and applied immediately. Mercato Metropolitano are a legend in the industry, focusing on ethics, sustainability and revitalising neighbourhoods.

“I am at the fledging stage of my business and was amazed and thrilled to be picked as a candidate to pitch to Mercato Metropolitano. The panel included their CEO, Andrea Rasca and many other members of the MM family. After the pitch, they were able to offer some really good feedback and give me direction on ideas I had for my future businesses!”

Lauren Donoghue from Kurbside Kitchen, said:

“We’re seriously thrilled to have been picked, we’d be so excited to get through to the next stage and hopefully get the opportunity to collaborate and build a relationship with such a forward thinking brand.”

Robert Ngo at Eat Lah, commented:

“We started as a street food stall serving the foodies of London on the street, and now we are extremely excited to have the opportunity to serve the foodies at Mercato with full of Malaysian colours and flavours.”

Another candidate in the DreaMM line-up includes Jesu Sebastian of Kottu Rotti:

“Pursuing my passion makes me feel good and it is an exciting moment when somebody offers me an amazing opportunity. Thank you NCASS! Thank you MM!”

Mercato Metropolitano’s Kate Kaneko:

“We have been very impressed with the DreaMM applicants this year from NCASS. It is such a diverse array of vendors with immense passion towards serving their communities in a sustainable way. I am excited to see what they can achieve going forward and how we at MM can take them one step further towards their goals.”
