Kings of the Wings announced in epic showdown

NCASS members proved they’re more than just ‘winging it’ as they walked away with numerous awards for People’s Choice and Judges Choice at Wing Fest 2021.

Chicken George & The Ribman, Gurt Wings and Greidy’s Wings were named champions of the People’s Choice award in the “Buffalo Wing” category. Mexican Seoul also joined Chicken George & The Ribman and Gurt Wings with a trophy for “Best Wild Wing” in the second People’s Choice award of the day.

Dubbed the “ultimate chicken wing showdown,” Wing Fest showcases the best wings the UK foodie scene has to offer and is now the world’s biggest festival of its kind.

Finals took place at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and boasted a killer line-up of wing slingers looking to take the trophy. Other NCASS members battling the heats included Wingmans, Mother Flipper, The Ribman, Greidy’s Wings and Mexican Seoul.

The winners took home a £250 voucher for CP Packaging Design & Print, plus entered the prestigious Wing Fest Hall of Flame.

James Mitchell of Gurt, said: “Winning for us is amazing. In 2018 when we first ever took part in Wing Fest London we had only been trading a few months and had very little catering experience. It was a little mad on our part, but we went in believing in our wings and ended up coming away with an award for 3rd Place Best Buffalo Wing Judges Choice – fast forward to 2021 and we walk away with 3 Awards.

“We couldn’t be happier and thank all our customers, friends and family for all their support over the years!”

Other NCASS members to win at the events included The Ribman, Greidy’s Wings and Mexican Seoul.

The contest will be rolling into Manchester and Bristol later in the year and wing fanatics can still get their hands on tickets over on the Wing Fest website
