Meet the Team: Liz Jeffcott

Liz NCASS

Here at NCASS, there’s a passionate team working behind the scenes every day to make sure members get the most out of their membership – and we thought it was about time you got to know them!

Next up we hear from Liz, Membership Team Manager at NCASS, who joined us almost a year ago as an Account Manager. Finding that working with people has always been her passion, she’s worked in customer service for 17 years across a range of industries including bariatric surgery and aerospace!

What does your new role as Membership Team Manager involve day to day?

Day to day, the role involves leading and supporting the membership team to keep our members happy, and processes smooth whilst motivating the team to deliver our core values.

How has your perspective on NCASS members changed since joining the team?

Having been on the consumer side of hospitality, I had no idea of all the work that goes on behind the scenes. All of our members have a real passion for what they do, and I’ve gained a lot of respect and admiration for anyone within this industry.

What’s one thing you wish more members knew about the support NCASS offers?

How valuable the Primary Authority assured documentation is. Having this protection can make inspections smoother, trading easier and gives you that confidence you need when navigating the legalities of the industry.

Where do you see the biggest challenges currently facing independent food businesses?

Rising costs compared with what they can charge without losing customers. The cost of everything in catering from fuel to ingredients is frequently discussed when we speak with our members.

What’s the most common issue members come to you for help with?

Inspections can be daunting for any trader, even if they have been in the industry for a long time. Knowing we can support them and give them confidence during this stressful period, is very rewarding.

How do you and the team decide where to focus support for members?

Our main focus is what the members need, we work around them!

What’s your go-to comfort food?

Jamaican food is my absolute favourite and I’ve been a huge fan of Esmies for many years.

What would you name your food truck?

Wok This Way.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I love to travel and recently went to Australia and Vietnam which was A LOT of flying for one trip. I’m also obsessed with cats and anything to do with cats. Having 3 of my own is not enough!
