National Burger Day: Your recommendations

Last week was National Burger Day, and to mark the occasion, we asked you to name the establishment that you think serves the best burger. Here’s what you told us…

Edward Vickery

I would recommend Fat Eddies Smokehouse (part of bishops butchery and burgers)

Bishops big burgers are the best ever , the beef is from the family farm (been in the family for 100years) makes for a fantastic story!

Andrew Mcluckie

The Orkney Grill in Kirkwall, Orkney.

Annette Currie

I’d like to nominate ourselves – Food in the Hood – as having the best burgers in Scotland and indeed the UK, although credit must go to our butcher and farmers who specialise in Highland Cattle breeds.

Classed as a ‘superior’ beef, the cattle travel less than 20 miles from field to abbatoir to butcher to van, and are cooked fresh on site. The nutritional benefits can be found in an academic study, and the Highland Cattle Society exists to preserve the breed.

None of your thick, fat burger nonsense. We serve our customers a traditional looking burger van burger, it only takes one bite to taste the quality, and that’s such a surprise!

Of all the different foods we do, the Highland Cattle Steakburger round the world menu is always the most popular with any crowd. It’s a pleasure to cook and sell.

Matt Bowater

You’ve got to try the amazing Meat Shack in Thorp Street, Birmingham. You’ll won’t be disappointed.

Felipe del Valle Preece

I would definitely recommend Japanified.
