Northern winners picked, finals week of the British Street Food Awards awaits

The Northern heats of the British Street Food Awards was hosted at Chow Down in Leeds over the weekend, with Greidy’s Wings & Strips defending the award for People’s Choice for a second year in a row.

Judges Choice went to the brilliant Pellizco, who in 2020 won the award for Best Newcomer.

Judges on the day included former Leeds United player & TV presenter Chris Kamara, Danny Malin of YouTube sensation “Rate My Takeaway,” and Manjit and Michael of the legendary Manjit’s Kitchen & Bar. They were joined by Jonathan Harris, former chef and co-founder of the Yorkshire Food Guide.

Judges Choice:

  1. Pelliz
  2. Bao Bros 23
  3. Archchis and Posh Street Food

People’s Choice:

  1. Greidy’s Wings and Strips
  2. Bao Bros 23
  3. Colombo Street

Both Greidy’s and Pellizco will now go through to the finals at Freedom Fest Hull on 3rd-5th September.
