New Look to NCASS Work Opportunities

As part of Version 4 of the NCASS Safety Management System, we have introduced NCASS Verify – a simple way for members to demonstrate their NCASS membership and Primary Authority status during inspections and compliance reviews.
When you next renew your membership, you will receive within your new pack a unique QR code page at the front of the SMS folder.
When scanned by EHOs and authorised assessors this QR code will confirm:
• Current NCASS membership
• Inclusion within the NCASS Primary Authority partnerships
• Primary authority advice relating to the NCASS Safety Management System
Going forward there will be further advice for EHOs from the primary authority partners at this link. This advice and the verification will support the consistent assessment of your safety management system during inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
This will help make inspections simpler, support greater consistency and give confidence when dealing with Environmental Health Officers or local authorities.
New benefits and features will be added to NCASS Verify to support members.
We will be raising awareness of NCASS verify with EHOs and reminding them that:
There is a co-ordinated partnership between NCASS, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Wrexham County Borough Council, which includes all members in England and Wales. (Note: Although the Primary Authority scheme does not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland, the compliance advice given is like to be respected there.)
The NCASS Safety Management System has been reviewed by the Primary Authority and Primary Authority Advice is given that the material is fit for purpose and contains appropriate information for caterers.
It should not be necessary for an NCASS member who is effectively implementing their SMS, to use the SFBB system.
