Danny’s Burger win big at National Burger Awards 2022

Bristol based NCASS member, Danny’s Burgers, have triumphed over fierce competition to win the National Burger Awards 2022. Hosted in central London, the National Burger Awards is a unique competition that sees entrants battle to impress a panel of industry experts. The live cook-off took place on 20th April, with chefs taking part in a show-down which saw them cook their own Signature Burger, a Technical Burger made up from a specific selection of ingredients and a Meat-Free Burger.

Danny Hawke, founder of Danny’s Burgers and winner of National Burger Chef of the Year 2021, wowed the esteemed judges with The Beef Chucky 2.0. Featuring a 50-day dry aged beef blend, a beer cheese sauce and candied jalapenos, all encased in a seeded brioche bun (to name but a few delicious ingredients), Danny’s unique signature creation is undoubtedly worthy of its title of UK’s Best Burger 2022.

“I didn’t see it coming at all, it’s unbelievable,” Danny shared. “After coming second last year, I wasn’t aware of how much of an impact the National Burger Awards could have, but off the back of that it was crazy, so no doubt this will be the same. I think this will even give me a push to open a restaurant.”

Other NCASS members also crowned were Plymouth based Oz Harborth of Zephyr Burgers, winning Burger Chef of the Year for their delicious Double Patty Melt and Birmingham based Stripclub Streetfood, winning the Blogger’s Choice award with their The Truffle Drip burger.

Congratulations to Danny’s Burgers and all the finalists. We can’t wait to see what you come up with next year!
