Lakeland Dairies have just launched a plant-based Comelle vegan soft serve ice cream mix, drawing on their vast 70 years of ice cream expertise.

It is the nation’s classic treat during summer – the second a bit of sun comes out we’re all alert to the magical sound of the ice cream van coming to deliver delicacies in neighbourhoods all across the UK. But as popular as traditional ice cream remains, it is still a heavily dairy product, making it inaccessible for growing audiences of non-dairy consumption.

Launched in Spring 2023 and available now through wholesalers, the Comelle Vegan Ice Cream Mix delivers greater choice for operators and consumers.

Jean Cattanach, Marketing Controller at Lakeland Dairies explains, “As experts with a long and renowned heritage in soft serve ice cream mix, we are extremely well placed to deliver ice cream products which not only taste great but also offer consumer choice. With the development of our new Comelle Vegan Ice Cream Mix we are supporting operators to offer a wide choice of high-quality soft serve ice cream options, which in turn helps them to meet consumer demand and drive revenue.”

Lakeland Dairies are a global market leader in the manufacturing of dairy based products. The company processes more than 2 billion litres of milk per year. Its food service products are developed with the professional in mind, delivering high-quality yet functional products to busy kitchens and bakeries around the world.
