NCASS Announces Hospitality Action as Charity Partner

NCASS is delighted to announce Hospitality Action (HA) as its chosen partnership, a vital charity providing hospitality workers with advice and support whenever times get tough.

Founded in 1837, the charity supports hospitality workers across varying sectors with anything from physical or mental health issues, through to family problems and addiction.

The charity is unique in offering support to anyone working in the hospitality sector, including chefs, housekeepers, bartenders and managers.

NCASS CEO, Alan Fox, said:

“Hospitality Action has been a vital lifeline to so many sector workers over the years, even more so in recent times with the heavy mental and financial toll that the increased energy costs and food prices has continued to have on so many struggling businesses and the individuals who work in them. We’re proud to be partnering with the charity and are very much looking forward to lending our support to ensure that all hospitality workers facing tough times get the crucial support they need to get back on track.”

Hospitality Action CEO, Mark Lewis, said:

“The spiralling cost of living is driving more hospitality families to the brink of financial crisis. At Hospitality Action, we’re working hard to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table for as many households as possible. But we can only be as supportive as our supporters are generous. More than half of the people contacting Hospitality Action for financial support report mental health challenge making it a vital service for hospitality workers finding themselves in difficult situations. The money raised will help deliver counselling sessions, provide emergency grants, and clear arrears for households at immediate risk of homelessness.

Members are also being invited to get involved in upcoming fundraising initiatives, such as HA’s Walk for Wellbeing in October 2023. More information can be found on their website.
